The break happened near the 14th Street station for the 1, 2 and 3 trains, according to the New York City Transit subway service's Twitter account. Video captured water flooding the subway tunnel.
As of 8:30 p.m., 1, 2 and 3 trains were halted in both directions between Chambers Street and Times Square.
