Woman's Body Found at UT Austin, Police Say
The body was found Tuesday morning.
-- A woman's body was found on the campus of UT Austin and police were treating the case as a homicide, the president of the school said.
The body was found in a creek behind the alumni center between 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
The cause of death was not immediately clear and the victim's name won't be released until next of kin are notified.
"I have spoken with campus public safety leaders and am writing to assure you that we are doing everything possible to ensure safety on campus," school president Gregory Fenves said in a statement. "We are also working closely with Austin police to identify possible suspects."
