The Conversation: Young Men's Bucket List
Duncan and Jonnie Penn tackle life goals, ask Obama what's on his list.
Sept. 24, 2010 -- A group of four men in their 20s is proving that you don't have to be in the twilight of your life to start worrying about a bucket list.
Duncan Penn, Jonnie Penn, Ben Nemtin and Dave Lingwood are the four friends and filmmakers behind "The Buried Life," a reality/documentary series that has been airing on MTV since January.
In the program, the group travels across North America in a beat-up bus, checking off a list of 100 things, one-by-one. For every item on the list, they help a stranger achieve one of their life goals.
"Why aren't we doing them now? Why wait until you're retired to do some of the things that you want to do before you die," said Duncan.
"And it's a great excuse to avoid getting a real job, right?" joked ABC's Jeremy Hubbard, who spoke with Duncan Penn and Jonnie Penn in today's conversation.
Among the goals on their list -- streaking through a stadium, helping to deliver a baby, and attending a party at the Playboy Mansion.
Maybe the toughest goal of all, playing basketball with President Barack Obama, proved tough, but not impossible.
"We finally got to play basketball with Obama," said Duncan.
"We were invited to do a tour of the White House. We had no idea Obama was going to be there, and he just showed up on the courts," Duncan added with a smile.
And they even asked the president what was on his bucket list.
"He said he wanted to commentate a sports game," said Duncan.
