ABC News NOW Launches 'South Asia NOW'

"South Asia NOW" is America's first network show all about South Asia.

Jan. 21, 2008— -- From political headlines to interviews with policy-makers, economists, musicians and Bollywood royalty, "South Asia NOW" examines the latest in news, politics and culture in the South Asian region.

"South Asia NOW" is America's first network show all about South Asia -- Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka. That includes news and interviews with the region's most fascinating people and reporting from ABC News correspondents based there.

Hosted by ABC News NOW anchor Daljit Dhaliwal, the first episode of "South Asia NOW" highlights reporting from ABC News digital reporter Nick Schifrin in Pakistan, a conversation about the ups and downs of living and building a future in Kashmir with three promising young Kashmiri men; as well as an interview with Bollywood superstars Aishwarya Rai and Abishek Bachchan.

"South Asia NOW" debuts on ABC News NOW Tuesday, Jan. 22, at 3:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. "South Asia NOW" on ABC News NOW.
