'90210' cast remembers Luke Perry: 'He's been with us every step of the way'
The stars of the reboot spoke about their former co-star at a premiere event.
The cast of "Beverly Hills, 90210" reflected on the loss of their friend and former co-star, Luke Perry, at a launch event for the show's upcoming reboot "BH90210."
The reboot, a six-episode series set to premiere Aug. 7, will star all of the series' fan favorites, including Shannen Doherty, Jason Priestley, Jennie Garth, Ian Ziering, Gabrielle Carteris, Brian Austin Green and Tori Spelling.
A few spoke about Perry's passing when asked at the launch event.
"Luke was a huge part of our '90210' family, and personally Luke was a very large part of my life," Jason Priestley told AP. "So it’s obviously very difficult to do this without him."
"He's been with us every step of the way," Jennie Garth said.
Ian Ziering told the outlet that he is "still having trouble reconciling" his friend's loss. "It’s difficult. He was a good friend of mine."
Jennie Garth and Tori Spelling previously revealed to Entertainment Weekly that Perry, who died from a stroke in March 2019, was involved with the development of the show early on and "was into it."
"The premise of this show, it’s about the characters behind the characters. It’s inside the lives of people that lived in those shoes for those 10 years, and it’s about them coming back together," Garth told Entertainment Weekly.
"We wanted to do something that would cause noise and be groundbreaking just like our original show was back in the ‘90s. And that’s when together we came up with this version," Spelling added.
Stay tuned for more updates on the highly-anticipated reboot.
