Bonnie Wright shares new photos from 2022 nuptials to Andrew Lococo
The pair tied the knot March 19, 2022, in San Juan Capistrano, California.
Bonnie Wright is sharing more special moments from her wedding to Andrew Lococo last year.
In a recent interview with Brides, the "Harry Potter" star shared new photos and opened up about details surrounding her nuptials, which were held on March 19, 2022, at The Ecology Center in San Juan Capistrano, California.
"We admire everything that The Ecology Center stands for," Wright, 32, said of the farm location, which is owned by the couple's friends. "We loved the idea of being surrounded by bountiful growing nourishing plants as we said 'we do.'"
She told the outlet their vision "was to make it both a celebration of love and community," adding that they "wanted it to be intimate [and] people to feel present and relaxed."
"Visually, we wanted it to express the vibrant colors of California," Wright explained. "It was important to reflect our love for the environment and use sustainable materials instead of any single-use packaging, lean into our creativity and make things ourselves, and source everything as locally and seasonally as possible."
The wedding ceremony took place six months after the couple's engagement, which Wright said was a decision that was made from "a conversation together over a few months."
"It felt very us!" Wright shared. "We officially decided in September 2021, then asked my parents, who are jewelry designers Wright & Teague, to make my engagement ring."
On the big day, the groom looked dapper in a Prada navy suit and brogue style shoes. Lococo told Bride he began the day with "a cold dip in the ocean with my soon-to-be wife."
Wright meanwhile opted for a sustainable choice, donning a 100-year-old stunning white dress.
"I knew I wanted to wear a vintage dress. There are so many beautiful dresses already out in the world full of character and story," she said, adding that she found the dress in a salon in Los Angeles.
As for the decoration, Wright said "the ceremony took place amongst rows of growing vegetables, so there was already a lot of color."
Guests at the wedding also enjoyed two specialty cocktails named after the couple, Wright Water and Lococo Fire, as well as meals made from the produce grown at The Ecology Center. The wedding cake of choice was a three-tiered citrus olive oil cake finished with salted vanilla and swiss meringue buttercream.
The main event included Wright being escorted down the aisle by her father to "Peace Piece" by Bill Evans before Wright and Lococo exchanged their own handwritten vows.
"We always knew we would as it felt more personable and an opportunity to really share our love for one another with all our family and friends," they said. "We wrote them like love letters to each other rather than traditional vows."
Born in London, Wright rose to fame after playing Ginny Weasley in the "Harry Potter" franchise from 2001 to 2011. She also has starred in independent movies including "Before I Sleep" and "The Sea" in 2013 and "After the Dark" in 2014.
Wright, a Greenpeace ambassador, released "Go Gently: Actionable Steps to Nurture Yourself and the Planet," a book on conservation and sustainability, in April 2022.
