Lil Nas X's 'Old Town Road' ties chart record for longest streak at No. 1

"This song has been a uniter not a divider," singer Billy Ray Cyrus.

Lil Nas X's "Old Town Road" is in some rare company.

The song he remixed with the help of Billy Ray Cyrus, who sang the original, has now tied "Despacito" and "One Sweet Day" by Mariah Carey as the longest running No. 1 song on the Billboard charts. And its run is not over yet.

If it retains that spot next week, it'll become the all-time leader in consecutive weeks at No. 1.

In a statement from Cyrus' rep, the acclaimed singer wrote, "This song has been a uniter not a divider. I’m giving God the glory now for allowing me the gift to be part of such a special song. It’s a unique moment in time where people from all over the world and all walks of life find they have more in common than they do different. It’s a moment we’ve all shared and I’m grateful for it."

If Lil Nas X has anything to say about it, he's gonna break that record.

He posted a funny animated video of him panhandling with the caption, "me on the internet this whole week tryna break the billboard record."

All kinds of records are falling with this hit. Earlier this month, it set the record as longest-running No. 1 hip-hop song in history.

"Old Town Road" surpassed three songs that each ran for 12 weeks: "See You Again" by Wiz Khalifa featuring Charlie Puth, "Boom Boom Pow" by The Black Eyed Peas and "Lose Yourself" by Eminem.

The rapper didn't forget to thank all the fans who have made these accomplishments possible.

"LETS GOOO THANK U EVERYBODY," he tweeted on July 1.
