Lindsey Vonn proposes to fiance because 'men should get engagement rings too'

The former professional skiier gave the NHL star an engagement ring.

Although Lindsey Vonn has been engaged to P.K. Subban since August, the former skiing star popped the question to her fiance on Christmas Day.

"On our 2 year anniversary I returned the favor and asked PK to marry me ... and he said yes," Vonn wrote in a Christmas post on Instagram.

The three-time Olympic medalist shared three photos with the NHL star in matching striped pajamas alongside their dogs at their home in New Jersey.

"We talk about equality but actions speak louder than words. Men should get engagement rings too and this is what PK deserves," she wrote. "Can’t wait to marry you babe."

The New Jersey Devils defenseman also shared a snap of his left hand sporting the new engagement ring on his Instagram stories and wrote "drip, drip."

According to Vogue, Subban proposed to Vonn with an emerald ring because green is her favorite color and it’s his birthstone.

This will be Vonn's second marriage. She married former U.S. ski team member and Olympian Thomas Vonn in 2007. They divorced in 2013, though she's continued to use her married name.
