Who is in the cast for "The Mandalorian" season 2?
While there's much speculation about new additions to the cast for the second season, only Pascal as Mando, Gina Carano as Cara Dune, a rebel shock trooper-turned-mercenary, and Giancarlo Esposito as Moff Gideon, a former officer of the Galactic Empire's Imperial Security Bureau, have officially been announced. They will, of course, join the always adorable Baby Yoda this season.
Additionally, official press photos for season 2 reveal Carl Weathers is back as Greef Karga, bounty hunter guild leader, and WWE star Sasha Banks has joined as a mysterious new character. An image showing the professional wrestler in a dark cloak -- which was seen in the trailer -- lists her without providing a name for the character she plays. That said, the trailer mentions Jedi, so perhaps Banks' character has a connection to them.

Pascal appeared on "Good Morning America" and, while he couldn't share much about season 2, he said he was "taken aback in a really good way" when reading the script for the premiere. He also called Baby Yoda an "incredible scene partner."

Esposito also stopped by "Good Morning America" and said he loves being part of a show that "depicts a story about humanity and heroism."
"To be a hero is something that we all aspire to," the "Breaking Bad" star, who called Baby Yoda a "beautiful, wonderful being," explained. "I play some villains, but I really love the hero and we need to be empowered by heroes today."

What happened in "The Mandalorian" season 1?

We're introduced to Mando, who accepts a job from Greef Karga requiring him to obtain a target for "The Client" (Werner Herzog). This target is revealed to be The Child, aka Baby Yoda. After returning The Child to "The Client," Mando has a change of heart and rescues the adorable creature.
While on the run, Mando and The Child make friends with IG-11 (Taika Waititi), Kuiil (Nick Nolte) and Cara Dune, who help them on their journey. Mando eventually goes head-to-head against Moff Gideon, who is after The Child.
In the end, IG-11 and Kuiil meet their end helping Mando, while Moff Gideon, who survives his encounter with Mando and is revealed to have the Darksaber, kills "The Client." As the season ends, Mando and The Child are now on the run from Moff Gideon.
