Mandy Moore shares who she would cast if 'A Walk to Remember' reboot was made
"Someone could redo this film. I would love to see it," she told People.
It's been 20 years since Mandy Moore starred in the coming of age film, "A Walk to Remember," which begs the question -- how would she feel about a reboot?
When asked about the idea during a discussion about the film with People, the actress, who played Jamie Sullivan in the 2002 film, shared, "I would love that."
Moore, who starred in the early aught's movie alongside Shane West, also revealed who she could see taking over her role, telling the outlet, "I don't know, Olivia Rodrigo or something like that."
"Someone could redo this film. I would love to see it," she said. "It's been long enough that, yeah, I feel like we've earned our place in cinematic history for a reboot at this point."
In honor of the anniversary, Moore also shared a throwback snap with West and the director, Adam Shankman. She reflected on the impact of the film in the caption of her post.
"20 years ago, 'A Walk to Remember' premiered in theatres," she wrote. "It unequivocally changed the course of my life and career and these 2 gentlemen were such a large part of it all."
"Thanks to all who have found and loved this movie and continue to pass it on," she added. "It (and @adamshankman & @theshanewest) will forever hold a very special place in my heart."
West shared the same image on his account with his own reflection on the cult classic.
"20 years….my god. What can I say that hasn’t already been said?" he wrote. "These two mean the world to me. The unconditional love from the fans. It’s rare we get an experience like this/something to hold onto. I’ll cherish this for the rest of my life 🔭 💫"
