Nick Cordero to be honored by family, friends and former castmates in upcoming memorial special
The memorial will be streamed on Broadway On Demand on Sep. 6 at 7:00 PM ET.
Family, friends and former co-stars of late Broadway star Nick Cordero will honor him in an upcoming streamed memorial.
The special will feature appearances and performances by some of Cordero’s castmates from his past shows, including "A Bronx Tale," "Bullets Over Broadway," "Waitress," "Rock of Ages" and "The Toxic Avenger."
"I know Nick would want a celebration, a happy and music filled celebration!" Amanda Kloots, Cordero’s widow, wrote in an Instagram post about the event. "He would want people to smile, to sing, to laugh and love. We will give him just that."
The memorial will include "photographs, videos, memories and commentary from those he grew up with, worked with, and shared his talent with," according to a press release.
The event, which will be free to stream on Broadway On Demand on Sep. 6 at 7:00 PM ET, comes two months after Cordero's death on July 5th at the age of 41.
He died after facing complications from COVID-19 for three months.
Any donations collected from the memorial will benefit the Save The Music Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving music education for children.
"I chose this charity because music was such an important part of Nicks life," Kloots wrote in her announcement.
