Toddler's happy dance while learning colors is 'pure joy'
Delilah's reaction will bring a smile to your face.
A Georgia toddler's reaction to learning her colors just might be the cutest thing you'll see on the internet today.
Two-year-old Delilah is the star of a viral TikTok video that's already been viewed nearly 2 million times within the last week. The short clip features Allen Cooley, Delilah's dad, holding colorful books while he asks his daughter to identify each color. After each answer, Delilah and her parents scream in delight, while the toddler raises her arms in a happy dance and excitedly laughs and giggles.
"She is so freakin cute! Pure joy," one TikTok user commented.
"Got me cheering too! ππΎπ," another user wrote.
"This made my morning, how adorable is she!" another TikTok user replied.
Delilah's mom, Shayla Cooley, told "Good Morning America" that she and her husband make sure to celebrate not just the big milestones their daughter reaches, but also the daily, small wins, and try to make learning as fun as possible for her. Cooley also said they try to teach Delilah new things whenever they can.
"A lot of friends and family were saying, 'Well, Shayla, I think that's a little bit too young. Like I don't think she needs to learn matching at β¦ 15, 16 months.' And my [question] is, why not? Why not try? Let's put it out there and let's see."
"Starting last year, we would just do different activities," Cooley continued. "And then just celebrating the moment that she gets it, she understands it. She loves that -- it's almost like she wants to get it right so she can hear how either I react or my husband react, because she wants to celebrate."
The Cooleys, who live in Smyrna, Georgia, have been sharing cute clips of Delilah's day-to-day life on their TikTok, @delijadecool, and say they hope to bring more positivity to their corner of the internet.
"It's so much doom and gloom when you go on your phone or you turn on the TV, we just wanted to put something out there that makes everyone laugh, and she brings us laughter every single day," Cooley said. "We thought that with this, teaching her colors and showing that it can be fun to learn, why not share?"
It may come as no surprise that Delilah, who loves the colors purple and pink, is a star in her own right. Cooley describes her daughter as an "independent" kid who's an avid dancer and always willing to learn.
"Whenever you meet Delilah, you can tell she's just a happy baby because she's always laughing and she's silly. At the same time, she'll set you straight, like she'll let you know what she does like and what she doesn't like," she said.
Cooley said the joyful video of Delilah learning colors was filmed earlier this year and it was a spontaneous moment they couldn't resist sharing.
"For that particular week, we were focusing on colors and we got these little small Pantone books, which, you can see in the video, are for purple and red and things like that. So, we try to keep it consistent, saying, 'Hey, what is this Delilah? What's that?' And that specific day, she was on a roll -- and we just happened to capture it."
