Speak Your Mind, Three Words at a Time

Aug. 21, 2007 — -- If one word can convey a lot about your state of mind, just think how much three words can express.

That's the hope, at least, behind "Express Yourself," the new outreach project from i-CAUGHT.

The project has its roots in the early days of video sharing, when a street magician named MadV — who always had his or her face masked — offered viewers an invitation to make a statement, to be "part of something big."

Little did MadV, or the responders, know just how big the subsequent video "One World" would become. It's the second-most responded to video of all time on YouTube.

MadV set off a tidal wave of connection, with viewers from every walk of life, every corner of the globe, writing down their hopes and dreams for the world on a readily available surface: their own palms.

Using whatever was at hand — a marker, ballpoint pen — they responded with such words as "imagine," "think," "listen." Little words, sure, but very big ideas. MadV compiled the uploaded clips of "hand writing" into a new video titled "The Message." A current version is on YouTube, but there's no end in sight as new viewers respond and send in their one-word messages every day.

That's where the current i-CAUGHT challenge comes in. We want viewers to tell us about their weeks. It's that thing you hope to hear at the end of the day, when you walk through your door: "How was your day, honey?" Only now, we're the ones asking the question.

From the sublime, to the ridiculous, nothing's too big, or too small, to send in. We want you to express yourself, and using only three words, share your week with the world. Write it on your palm, cut it out in letters, say it aloud. Shoot it with your digital camera, webcam or cell phone, and upload it to the i-CAUGHT page.

We'll take the best, most thought-provoking submissions and assemble them into an all-new message, which we'll share, on-air, on next week's i-CAUGHT show.

"Express Yourself" is your chance to speak your mind, three words at a time. Our goal? To show you somebody's listening.
