The 2025 Golden Globes kicked off awards season Sunday night as the best in film and television were honored.

Brady Corbet's "The Brutalist" and Jacques Audiard's "Emilia Pérez" were big winners of the night on the film side, winning best motion picture (drama) and best motion picture (musical or comedy), respectively. "Wicked" took home the award for cinematic and box office achievement.

On the television side, "Shōgun," "Hacks" and "Baby Reindeer" won the top prizes.

Comedian Nikki Glaser hosted the ceremony, which was held at Los Angeles' famed Beverly Hilton.

Ted Danson honored with Carol Burnett Award

Three-time Golden Globe winner Ted Danson received the Carol Burnett Award, which honors his prolific career in entertainment, at an event on Friday.

Danson's expansive career includes starring roles in "Cheers," "The Good Place" and "A Man on the Inside."

Danson shouted out the award's namesake, Carol Burnett, who was in attendance at the event, in his acceptance speech.

"I am so thrilled to get this award, Carol. I cannot tell you how much it means to me," he gushed. "You have brought so much joy and happiness into households all over the world. You radiate kindness. I love you so much."

Burnett returned the admiration, yelling "I love you" from the audience.

Danson is also expected to be recognized during tonight's ceremony.

Who is presenting at the 2025 Golden Globes?

Golden Globe Awards presenters this year include a star-studded list of entertainers, with names like Demi Moore, Dwayne Johnson, Zoë Kravitz, Elton John and Mindy Kaling.

Anthony Mackie, Colman Domingo, Colin Farrell, Jennifer Coolidge, Melissa McCarthy, Michael Keaton, Gal Gadot, Michelle Yeoh, Viola Davis, Jeff Goldblum and Andrew Garfield are also on the list of presenters this year.

Rounding out the list are Anthony Ramos, Anya Taylor-Joy, Ariana DeBose, Auli'i Cravalho, Awkwafina, Brandi Carlile, Catherine O'Hara, Édgar Ramírez, Glenn Close, Kaley Cuoco, Kate Hudson, Kathy Bates, Ke Huy Quan, Kerry Washington, Margaret Qualley, Miles Teller, Morris Chestnut, Nate Bargatze, Nicolas Cage, Rachel Brosnahan, Rob McElhenney, Salma Hayek Pinault, Sarah Paulson, Seth Rogen, Sharon Stone and Vin Diesel.

There are 26 performers who are first-time Golden Globes nominees this year.

They include Adam Brody, Ariana Grande, Glen Powell, Kathryn Hahn, Pamela Anderson, Zoe Saldaña and this year's Golden Globes host Nikki Glaser.
