Bindi Irwin celebrated her 22nd birthday by sharing a video calling for more unity and love in the world.

In a message posted on Friday, the daughter of the late "Crocodile Hunter" star Steve Irwin began by thanking her followers for their well-wishes.

"I don't really record a whole lot of selfie videos, but I really felt like it was important to send you some love and light to thank you for your incredible birthday messages, your kind words," she shared.

"Thank you for your support today and every day, it means the world to me and my family," she continued. "These are certainly really challenging times. I can't believe how this global pandemic has changed the world, and my heart goes out to everybody who's been so terribly affected."

She said that now is the time to "stand together as a society to spread a little more love and light and do what we can to make a positive difference in the world."

Irwin also gave an update on how the Australia Zoo, which her family owns, is doing amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Here at Australia Zoo, we're really busy. Our wildlife hospital is still rescuing and rehabilitating animals, and we'll continue to fight the good fight," she said. "Let's hope for a brighter future and work together to make a difference."

Sharing another video of her mother, Terri, and her late father, Irwin reflected on how grateful she is for her parents, especially on her birthday.

"22 years ago my parents decided to start a family. I will forever be grateful for their unconditional love and encouragement to follow my dreams," she captioned the video, which featured moments of her parents holding her in the delivery room and her late father talking about her birth.

Her husband, Chandler Powell, who she married in March in a small ceremony at the Australia Zoo, shared a loving note for her on her special day.

"For the first time ever as a married couple, happy birthday to my beautiful wife," he captioned his post. "This year has been nothing short of epic and you have handled everything thrown our way with courage and grace."

Terri Irwin wrote about how much she has "treasured" every year of Bindi's life in a post devoted to her daughter.

Bindi Irwin's younger brother Robert shared a video of the family of four celebrating what he called "a wonderful day."

In another post for his sister, Robert Irwin wrote, "Thank you for being my best friend from the moment I entered the world."
