The movie gave him his iconic "alright, alright, alright" catchphrase.
Matthew McConaughey made his debut on the big screen in "Dazed and Confused," and now he's looking back at the audition tape that started it all.
"Summer job 28 years later," the 50-year-old Oscar winner captioned a video on social media of him reacting to the decades-old clip that's also proof he doesn't age.
The audition tape features McConaughey in various scenes where he delivers two of the most iconic lines from the movie: "It'd be a lot cooler if you did" and "I keep getting older, but they stay the same age."
"Nice," he said after watching. "Look at that."
"So that audition, which I've never seen, was my audition for [the character] Wooderson [in] 'Dazed and Confused,'" McConaughey explained.
"Twenty-eight years ago you thought you might just have a little three-day job for a summer hobby," he concluded. "Twenty-eight years later, I still got a little summer job that turned into a career."
"Dazed and Confused," a 1993 coming-of-age movie from director Richard Linklater, follows a group of Texas teens on their last day of school in 1976.
It's famous for giving McConaughey his iconic "alright, alright, alright" catchphrase as well as a cast that would go on to become big stars, including McConaughey, Ben Affleck, Milla Jovovich and more.
