Ryan Phillippe is marking an important moment in his sobriety journey.
The 49-year-old actor, known for "I Know What You Did Last Summer" and "Cruel Intentions," took to Instagram on Sept. 14 to share the news alongside a casual mirror selfie.
"Officially the longest I've gone since I was a teen without some kind of nicotine or marijuana in my system (among other things…)," he wrote, without providing any specifics on what "other things" he was referring to or how long he'd gone without partaking in them.
He continued, "Feeling thankful for the freedom that comes with breaking addictions and dependency on substance. Sobriety, clarity, and spiritual connectedness feels real good."
Phillippe's followers took to the comments to send support his way and to celebrate him, with one writing, "Congratulations!!! That's an incredible accomplishment 👏👏 Keep Going!!!
