Cate Blanchett Says She's Had Relationships With Women 'Many Times'

— -- In "Carol," a film set to debut at Cannes this weekend, Cate Blanchett plays a character who falls in love with another woman, played by Rooney Mara.

In real life, the actress said that she, too, has had relationships with women.

"Many times," she told Variety, though, in the article, she did not elaborate.

Blanchett, 45, is now married to playwright Andrew Upton. The couple has four children, and, according to Variety, are planning to move from their native Australia to the U.S. soon -- either to San Francisco or New York.

Work comes first though, and before they can relocate, she's going to finish another film, "Truth." She just won't watch it, as is her habit with her films.

“I never think I have it,” she told Variety. “Maybe that’s why I keep working.”
