— -- Earlier this year, Luke Bryan took in his teenage nephew after the sudden death of his brother-in-law Ben Lee Cheshire last November.

Cheshire was married to Luke's late sister Kelly, who died in 2007.

Bryan, 39, who also lost his own brother decades ago after a car accident and has dealt with quite a bit of tragedy in his life, told ABC News at the time that he took Til in that the new family unit now tries to "stay positive."

The beloved country star is now opening up about how the situation is going for him, his family, and Til. Bryan is also helping to raise his two nieces, Til's sisters, along with the his own two sons, Bo and Tate.

"You don't want to sound like you love having them so much that you're glad it's the situation," Bryan told Billboard magazine. "But we're honored to be doing what we feel was the right thing."

He continued, "So I just hang on to the positive and wake up everyday grinding."

Bryan also spoke to Ellen DeGeneres a few months back about raising a teenager, who is twice the age of his other boys, and helping with the nieces.

"You're not fooling a 13-year-old," he told the comedian on her talk show. "But we love it ... He has two older sisters, too, so now I'm kind of like, we gotta do the whole 'scare whoever, the boys that they are talking to.' I have to play that role, too."
