Miley Cyrus Grows Up in the Spotlight

After avoiding the media for a week, tween queen Miley Ray Cyrus appeared onstage Saturday night, May 3, 2008 at the Disney Channel Games Concert in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. The 15-year-old star of the Disney Channel's "Hannah Montana" refrained from commenting on the previous week's Vanity Fair controversy, but did thank fans for their support.

The singer-actress apologized to fans April 27, 2008 for photographs taken by famed photographer Annie Liebovitz for Vanity Fair magazine, which Cyrus now says "embarrassed" her. In one of the photos, Cyrus is shown from the side, with most of her back bare, clutching what appears to be a satin sheet loosely around herself. In another, she's draped over the lap of her dad, baring her midriff.
