LONDON— -- Just shy of his second birthday, Prince George is already following in the family footsteps.

Princess Kate took her son to a polo event that Princes William and Harry were participating in today, a day after they celebrated Trooping the Colour, the queen's official birthday celebration.

The young prince, who turns two years old on July 22, played with a toy car and even tried his hand at the sport, whacking at a ball with a pint-sized mallet.

The Duchess of Cambridge ran around with her son just six weeks after giving birth to her daughter, Princess Charlotte. The young prince kicked a polo ball as his family proudly watched.

The entire Windsor clan was out for a more casual day as William and Harry competed on their polo ponies. Prince Charles watched from the sidelines while spending some quality time with his first grandson and Kate. Princess Anne's children Peter and Zara Phillips, who is George's godmother, also joined in the fun.
