— -- Country star Ty Herndon introduced the world to his partner Matt Collum on Sunday -- his first public appearance with his boyfriend since coming out just last month.

The two showed up to the TrevorLIVE event in LA, holding hands, according to People magazine, who interviewed the singer weeks ago, giving him the platform to come out to the world.

"I looked at him and said, 'You know, once we walk this carpet, you're totally gay,'" Herndon, 52, told People, joking.

The "What Mattered Most" singer has been with Collum for five years and said coming out last month "was the last piece of the puzzle to be authentic."

As for possible wedding bells in Herndon's future, he admits, "We talk about it a lot."

"But I have a new album. When we have time. I know that's weird to say, but I'm so busy!" he added.
