Jill Duggar met her fiancé Derick Dillard for the first time in Nepal, after they chatted via Skype for months.
However, her trip wasn't just about romance.
An exclusive new clip from the TLC reality series "19 Kids & Counting," shows Duggar, 22, volunteering at a local birthing center while Dillard spent time with her father, Jim Bob. At home in Arkansas, Duggar has been studying to be a midwife, and during her trip, she realized that she and Dillard have more in common than she even initially thought.
"I really do have a goal, a vision, just someday to be out on the mission fields somewhere out of the U.S. and hopefully provide care for families [and] for women," Duggar said. "Me meeting Derick has also been neat to see where his heart is also just helping other people outside the U.S. so it's really neat to see that we both have the same visions, the same goals."
He clearly felt the same way, and in April, the two announced their engagement. They have been planning a summer wedding.
"I think it'll probably be a Duggar-sized wedding with lots of friends and lots of family, and everything centered on God," she said. "We're looking forward to it!"
