with those explosive revelations from tom cruise's $50 million lawsuit, against magazines that claim he abandoned daughter, suri. Abc's linzie janis has the story. Reporter: This morning, newly-released documents obtained by abc news show what tom cruise said in a video deposition given two months ago, in his $50 million lawsuit against bauer publishing. The company he's suing over headlines claiming he abandoned his daughter, suri. When asked why he spent just ten days with suri between june and november last year, the star says he spent as much time with her as his filming schedule and visitation agreement would allow. Saying, I would have had to have at specific times flown from london to new york. The intervier asking, and that was something that was impossible to do? Cruise says, unfortunately, in this situation, it was impossible. Tom cruise reunites with suri. Ear-old suri finally back with daddy. Reporter: Cruise spent some of those ten days taking suri in this helicopter to the hamptons in july of last year. And a month later, to disney world. But when asked why he could jet to a scientology event and a movie premiere but not make more time for suri, like on her first day of school, cruise says, quote, it's just a different set of circumstances. It certainly does not mean that I've abandoned my daughter. Tom is going after these publications because he's saying these claims t he abandoned his daughter are cetely false. He wants to protect suri. And he wants people to know that he is a good dad. Reporter: The examiner also asked if holmes indicated that she divorced cruise in order to protect suri from scientology. To which cruise said, that was one of her assertions, yes. I think a lot of people are going to be shocked that tom acknowledged that religion played a part in his divorce. Reporter: When contacted by abc news, bauer publishing and representatives for cruise declined to comment. I want the truth. Reporter: The case is expected to be in court next year. For "good morning america," linzie janis, abc news, new york.
