MEDALS: Individual and team competition for men and women.Individual competition consists of head-to-head matches in singleelimination after archers are ranked from 1-64. Semifinals winnersdecide the gold and silver medalists. Semifinals losers shoot forthe bronze.

The top 16 teams shoot in the team competition.

OUTLOOK: United States men have won six gold medals since the sportreturned at the 1972 Olympics, including winning individual andteam gold at Atlanta four years ago.

South Korea’s women have won seven gold medals since 1972,including individual and team gold at the last three Olympics.
