Aug. 31, 2013 — -- intro:

As Wal-Mart leads an effort to bring more manufacturing jobs back to the U.S. by buying an additional $50 billion in American-made products over the next 10 years, this Labor Day weekend retailers across the country are offering sales on items made in America.

The nation's largest retailer says its efforts will create more than 1,000 domestic jobs in the next decade.

Wal-Mart says that "Made in USA Certified" is the only outside third party certification selected for its commitment, and the company is working with other large retailers to ensure products are properly labeled. The Federal Trade Commission simply requires that a product advertised as "Made in USA" be "all or virtually all" made domestically.

Here are 'Made in America' deals offered by retailers across the country to honor the nation's workers this Labor Day.
