Will Smith is responding to wife Jada Pinkett Smith's forthcoming memoir, "Worthy," and seemingly addressing her recent revelations about their marriage in which she revealed they've been separated for years.

In an email shared with The New York Times for a profile on Pinkett Smith published on Saturday, the Oscar winner is paraphrased saying that his wife's memoir woke him up.

The newspaper also paraphrases Will Smith saying that the memoir made him realize she had experienced a life on the edge more than he'd thought, giving him a newfound appreciation for her resilience, intelligence and compassion.

"When you've been with someone for more than half of your life," he wrote, "a sort of emotional blindness sets in, and you can all too easily lose your sensitivity to their hidden nuances and subtle beauties."

Smith also shared a post to Instagram on Sunday that seemingly addressed all the attention Pinkett Smith's memoir and its press tour are getting.

"Fun fact about me: I can take a nap almost anywhere," a voiceover says during a video of him sleeping on a ship.

During the video, sounds can be heard that resemble a phone buzzing with multiple notifications. The "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" actor captioned the post, "Notifications off :)."

Last week, it was revealed in an excerpt from Pinkett Smith's memoir shared by People that she and Smith had been separated for six years prior to the infamous slap at the 2022 Academy Awards.

"We had been living separate lives and were there as family, not as husband and wife," she wrote in the book, out Oct. 17. "But when I hear Will yell 'wife' in the chaos of the moment, an internal shift of 'Oh s--- ... I am his wife!' happens instantly."
