Former 'Bachelorette' Ashley Hebert and J.P. Rosenbaum Open Up About Parenthood
The reality TV star and her husband, J.P. Rosenbaum, discuss parenthood.
— -- Last year, J.P. Rosenbaum and Ashley Hebert welcomed their first child, son Fordham.
Their son's name, they shared, came up pretty naturally.
"We were driving through Manhattan, looking at signs and taking words and trying to turn them into a name -- and then we passed by Fordham University," Hebert told ABC News. "[I thought], 'That’s a strong name. We can call him Fordy when he’s a baby and that’s a sweet name!' It took me nine months to convince J.P."
Rosenbaum said that it was a better option than the first one Hebert proposed: Lexington, after Lexington Ave.
"I said we cannot name him 'Lexington.' It’s way too long and won’t fit on a degree or license," he said with a laugh. "Lex would a cute nickname, but Lexington Rosenbaum?! It's so hard to name a human being."
The former "Bachelorette" stars welcomed their son in September, shortly after they moved from the East Coast to Miami.
Now, the couple, who have partnered with Puffs during cold and flu season, are adjusting to life in a new city with a new baby.
"It's really been seamless," the new dad said. "We're have a healthier lifestyle. The worst part is obviously being away from family and friends, but we have a decent social network down here and that will only grow."
The same can be said for their family. While another baby isn't in their immediate plan, the hope is to give Fordham a sibling sooner rather than later.
"Not today, but in the near future," Hebert said.
Added Rosenbaum: "Maybe tomorrow."
