'Dancing with the Stars' Amy Purdy: 'I Have a Rib Out Of Place'

The paralympian was taken to the hospital Monday night after the injury.

April 29, 2014 — -- "Dancing with the Stars'" Amy Purdy was forced to go the hospital Monday night after she said her upper back cracked and went into spasms.

"It's hard to breath," she told co-host Erin Andrews, before she missed the group dance and the remainder of the show.

As promised, Purdy updated her fans on Twitter today saying, "So, Looks like I have a rib out of place and my muscles are in spasm.I am being very proactive in healing up so I can continue this journey."

Her tweets back to fans from were that she hopes she can continued on the show.

Purdy, 34, and her partner Derek Hough have been an inspiration this season with Purdy dancing on two prosthetic legs. She has quickly become a front-runner on the show to make it to the finals, coupled with the fact Hough is a 5-time champ.

Purdy earned four 9's for a total of 36 out of a possible 40 points before having to leave for the hospital Monday night.

The paralympian’s sensual rumba with Hough got the judges excited. “First out, first class!” said head judge Len Goodman.
