The A&E network and the cast agreed that the reality-TV show, which revolves around the Robertson family's lucrative duck-call business, will wrap up after this season, according to Variety.
Aware that the series would be coming to an end after its 11th season, the Robertsons decided to break the news at the beginning of Wednesday's season premiere so that fans would make sure to catch the final episodes and the "Duck Dynasty" holiday specials.
The cast also made the announcement on Twitter.
The show, which debuted in 2012, quickly became one of the most-watched nonfiction series in cable TV history. It's still A&E's top-rated show, based on total viewers.
Season 11 of "Duck Dynasty" will run through Jan. 18, then go on hiatus until March 1, when A&E will begin airing the final seven episodes. The series finale is set for April 12.
