— -- Country superstar Garth Brooks kicked off the “Good Morning America” Fall Concert Series today hot on the heels of receiving one of music’s highest honors. He is the first-ever artist to have seven albums certified as diamond by the Record Industry Association of America. Each album must have sold at least 10 million copies to be considered diamond.

To put that accomplishment in perspective, Michael Jackson had just one diamond certified album and The Beatles had six diamond certified albums.

“We’re lucky enough to be in front of the most loyal format, the most loyal audience, that’s the country music audience,” Brooks, 54, said, crediting his fans for the accomplishment. “I’ll put them up against anybody. They are the bomb. They’re great.”

To commemorate this wondrous occasion, “GMA” presented him with a diamond guitar trophy that put a big smile on the singer’s face.

“Honey, make room by the fireplace because it’s coming home with me,” he jokingly told his wife, Trisha Yearwood, on camera.

Brooks then performed his new single, "Baby, Let's Lay Down and Dance," off his latest studio album, "Gunslinger.”
