The "Girls Gone Wild" creator and businessman welcomed his twin daughters Tuesday in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, an announcement sent to ABC News read.

"Proud first time parents Joe Francis and Abbey Wilson are delighted to announce the birth of their two daughters Alexandria Claire Francis and Athena Olivia Francis," the announcement read.

Just hours ago, Francis, 41, had posted a picture giving a thumbs up and in the hospital, saying "He we go!!! Babies are coming now!"

Earlier in the year, Francis spoke to ABC about using in vitro fertilization and preimplantation genetic diagnosis to make sure he had healthy girls.

"The technology has only been around for a year and a half," Francis told ABC News in April. "You can screen out over 1,700 genetic diseases. You can even take out the probability of breast cancer, all these things, before they are even implanted."

Francis said that he and Wilson chose girls because that's what they know from growing up.

"Abbey comes from a family of girls, no brothers, and I have three sisters and no brothers," he said. "We both wanted girls. We talked about it for a while. We both feel like we only know girls. We just grew up with it."
