Olivia Munn Cast as Psylocke in 'X-Men: Age of Apocalypse'

— -- She certainly looks the part. "X-Men" director Bryan Singer announced today that "Newsroom" alum Olivia Munn would be playing Psylocke in the upcoming "Apocalypse" movie set for next May.

"Excited to welcome @oliviamunn as Betsy Braddock! #Psylocke #XmenApocalypse #XMEN," he wrote.

Munn, 34, also tweeted, "Dear OMFG, From G4 to XMEN you've been THE BEST road dogs. Thanks for staying on the ride with me. This one's for you."

Marvel's Psylocke, aka Betsy Braddock, of the X-Men.

According to Marvel.com, Psylocke "can generate a telekinetic katana, or direct her telekinesis through her fists to strike as if she had superhuman strength; she is also immune to telepathic probes and attacks."

She's also "a skilled martial artist and a trained pilot."
