— -- An actor on the TV series "Power Rangers Wild Force" is expected to appear in a California court today in connection to the stabbing death of his roommate.

Ricardo Medina Jr., 36, who played Cole Evans, the Red Lion Wild Force Ranger in the 2002 series, is accused of killing Joshua Sutter, also 36.

Medina and Sutter got into an argument that turned physical Saturday afternoon at the Palmdale, California, residence they shared, according to the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department. When Medina retreated to his room with his girlfriend, Sutter forced his way into the room, officials said.

Medina then stabbed Sutter in the abdomen with a sword kept in his room, authorities said. Sutter was taken to a hospital and later pronounced dead.

Medina called 911 after stabbing Sutter, remained at the scene and was interviewed by detectives, authorities said. He was arrested in the slaying and is scheduled to make his first court appearance in Lancaster, California, today.

Medina had only lived at the residence for about two months and neighbors said he kept mostly to himself, according to ABC station KABC-TV.

Fellow "Power Rangers" actor Jason Faunt called Medina a "very gentle, love-all type of guy."

"I just don't think he's capable of that. So I feel like something really provoked it," Faunt said.

Rachel Kennedy, the victim's sister, said she can't imagine her brother provoking the attack.

"He was a soft, kind guy, and I miss him, and I'm sorry it had to happen so tragically," she said.

In addition to his role on “Power Rangers Wild Force,” Medina has done voiceover work and appeared in episodes of "ER" and "CSI: Miami."
