— -- Actor Tom Cruise drew a loud ovation after he was spotted in the crowd at Sunday’s women’s Final Four basketball game between Connecticut and Maryland.
Cruise was attending the game in Tampa, Florida, with his son, Connor.
The three-time Academy Award nominee sat in a suite above the Terrapins bench and received an ovation from the crowd when the cameras showed him on the video board. He was also seen posing for photos with fans.
UConn player Breanna Stewart, whose team won 81-58, was surprised to learn of Cruise’s appearance.
"No. Where was he? Oh, my gosh," she gushed after the game. "I didn't even get to meet him."
Cruise, 52, has starred in several sports-themed movies, including “Jerry Maguire,” “All the Right Moves” and “Days of Thunder.”
