Diesel said that seeing director James Wan and co-stars like Dwayne Johnson "showing up, committed," helped him through the loss of his friend who died in Nov. 2013.
"I saw Kurt Russell, I saw Tyrese, I saw Luda," he continued. "Fifteen years of playing Dom ... and we come to this magical night."
Diesel said even the studio wanted to honor Walker and that "Furious 7" is "a legacy for Paul."
"This movie is more than a movie I've said," said Diesel. "You'll feel it when you see it. There's something emotional happens to you. Where you walk out of this movie and you appreciate everyone you love."
Ludacris also spoke on the red carpet about Walker, telling KABC, "This night it means everything to me right now. There’s a void that needs to be filled. It’s bittersweet but this movie is paying homage to Paul and I’m glad we were able to finish it in his honor."
Tyrese Gibson described Walker as “our motivation to finish.”
