A special guest is opening for the Backstreet Boys on their upcoming tour.

Band member Brian Littrell's son, Baylee, 16, will open for the boy band on the North American dates for the highly anticipated #DNAWorldTour this summer.

The band announced the news on its official Instagram page on Wednesday.

"Are you ready North America?! We’re bringing new country music artist @bayleelittrell_music on the road with us for the #DNAWorldTour North American leg!" the band's caption said.

"Be sure to listen to his single “Don’t Knock It” (link in our story) ... and get to the show early so you don’t miss him," the caption continued.

Baylee Littrell told PEOPLE that his goal has been to go on tour since he was just 6 years old.

"I wanted to do what my dad did," Baylee Littrell told PEOPLE.

"One of their shows — I think it was the tour after their album 'This Is Us' from 2009 — they went out on the road and I remember right before they went on, I put on one of my dad’s jackets from one of his outfits in his dressing room and I stood in front of the mirror," Baylee Littrell continued. "He comes in and is like, ‘Hey bubs, what are you doing?’ and I’m like, ‘Well I want to be like you.’ I asked, ‘Can I get up there instead one day?’ He was like, ‘Well, you never know.’"

"And now the opportunity to open for him and the guys is like that 6-year-old self standing in front of that mirror in his dressing room with his jacket on," he said. "It’s a dream come true.”

Brian Littrell also shared a photo of his son Wednesday morning to celebrate the exciting news.
