Carrie Underwood announces new album, 'Denim & Rhinestones': Everything to know
Underwood calls the album "a big reflection of me as a person and as an artist."
The countdown to Carrie Underwood's new album, "Denim & Rhinestones," has officially begun.
"Denim & Rhinestones," the country superstar's ninth studio album, will release on June 10. It marks her return to the country-pop genre after she released her first Christmas album, "My Gift," in 2020 and her first gospel album, "My Savior," in 2021.
"We cover a lot of ground on this album," Underwood said in a press release. "We have a lot of songs that have a bit of a 'throwback' feel, but they sound super fresh. I grew up listening to so many different kinds of music and that is extremely evident in this body of work."
"These are musical influences that are all in me and work their way out, and I just decided this time not to get in their way," she continued. "I think this whole album ended up being a big reflection of me as a person and as an artist."
Underwood shared the album's cover art via social media on Thursday. In the photo, she is wearing denim galore, including a dress and jacket in the material, and there's a lot of bling and sparkle to represent the rhinestones part of the album title.
The blue and purple colors of the album cover are a continuation of a color palette Underwood started when she put out "Ghost Story" last month. She also performed the single at the 2022 Grammy Awards, where she won her eighth Grammy.
Underwood co-wrote 11 of the 12 tracks on "Denim & Rhinestones" and worked with many of her frequent collaborators on the tracks. See a track list for "Denim & Rhinestones" here:

Of the title track, Underwood said, "The song 'Denim & Rhinestones' is super fun, with a bit of a retro vibe -- we just go together, like a sweet tea and a lemon, like denim and rhinestones."
"You have these things that are great on their own and then you put them together and they just fit," she continued. "That's how this album feels."
While there's a lot of new music from Underwood to look out for, she has the next engagement of her Las Vegas residency, "REFLECTION" at the Resorts World Theatre, coming up from May 11 until May 21. She is also headlining the Stagecoach Festival on April 30.
