Channing Tatum shared a surprising announcement: he's written his first children's book.

The actor, 40, posted a photo Monday of him flashing his newly published storybook, while wearing a hilarious getup.

"Guys, I don’t know about you but things got a little weird for me in quarantine," the 40-year-old actor wrote in his announcement. "I ended up accidentally locking myself in my 7-year-old daughter’s room. And I ended up finding my inner child."

The photo shows Tatum sporting a cooking apron, a pair of pink fairy wings and a frog princess sleeping mask as he reads his new book, "The One and Only Sparkella," to his daughter Everly's stuffed unicorn and a plethora of princess-themed toys.

As it turns out, because his daughter inspired his newest work, "Sparkella" is dedicated to her.

"So this is what I created for my little girl. From what is, I guess, the little girl in me," furthered Tatum. "Thanks for reading."

The story is, according to the official website, "a charming ode to self-esteem and the love between a father and daughter."

The book follows a spirited girl named Ella who is so excited for her first day of school, she dazzles herself up for her big day -- complete with "glittery ribbons in her hair" and a "shimmering backpack."

However, Ella's sense of style isn't popular with her classmates so, in order to fit in, she tries to "less sparkly" -- that is, until her doting dad steps in and helps her discover the "importance of just being herself, no matter what other people say."

The book, which is set to be released May 4, 2021, is now available for preorder.
