In celebration of its two-year anniversary, Disney+ has many new offerings.

November 12, 2021, 4:04 AM

Disney+ launched two years ago and to celebrate, the streaming service has a number of new titles premiering on Friday.

Two recent Disney favorites, "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings" and "Jungle Cruise," will be available to all subscribers, as will the new Disney+ original film, "Home Sweet Home Alone" -- the sixth installment in the "Home Alone" franchise.

In addition, there will be an all-new original series of shorts from Walt Disney Animation Studios called "Olaf Presents," featuring the snowman from "Frozen" telling Disney stories; a Pixar animated short film, "Ciao Alberto," featuring characters from "Luca"; and a new "Simpsons" short paying tribute to Disney+'s brands.

“Since launching two years ago, Disney+ has captured the hearts and imaginations of audiences around the world with its best-in-class originals and robust library of beloved films and series,” said Kareem Daniel, chairman of Disney Media and Entertainment Distribution. “With Disney+ Day, we are creating an unparalleled experience for our subscribers as only The Walt Disney Company can.”

Disney+ Day will also be celebrated at Disney Parks and Resorts, Disney Cruise Line and on ShopDisney.com.

"The inaugural Disney+ Day will be a grand-scale celebration of our subscribers across the entire company," said Bob Chapek, chief executive officer of The Walt Disney Company, in September. "This day of appreciation brings to life our mission to entertain, inform and inspire fans and families around the globe through the power of unparalleled storytelling, and will become an annual tentpole event to be amplified across our global businesses."
