Karen Gillan shares photo of herself in couples therapy while still in 'Guardians' makeup
Gillan said she simply "forgot" about the scheduled therapy session.
We've all been there. You forget you had an important meeting scheduled and end up doing something else instead, only to scramble at the last second to make the meeting.
Actress Karen Gillan, who plays Nebula in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3," had a such an experience, and she recently opened up about it with her fans and followers.
In an Instagram post on Wednesday, Gillan said she once forgot she had a couples therapy appointment scheduled on a day she was filming for the movie, and ended up on a Zoom call with her husband Nick Kocher and their therapist -- while in full makeup for her character.
"In honour of Guardians of the Galaxy in theaters this Friday - here's a screenshot of the time I forgot I had scheduled a COUPLES THERAPY session on a day we were shooting," she wrote in the caption alongside a screenshot of the Zoom call, in which she can be seen with a full face of blue and purple makeup.
Gillan's co-stars were thoroughly entertained by the revelation.
"THIS IS THE BEST," Chris Pratt, who plays Peter Quill/Star-Lord in the "Guardians" movies, wrote in the comments.
"😂😂 this needs to be in a movie," wrote Zoe Saldana, who plays "Gamora."
Pom Klementieff, who plays "Mantis" in the "Guardians" franchise, was similarly amused, writing, "Hahahahahahahahahaha DEAD hahahahahahah."
The Scottish actress has been married to comedian Kocher since 2022.
On "Good Morning America" Thursday, Gillan shared more about "Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 3" and her character, Nebula, whom she referred to as "the blue one, the bold one."
"She's really involved through the movie," said Gillan. "She started off as a villain and now she's a full-blown Guardian, with a uniform and everything."
She also revealed the tip that director James Gunn shared with her for Nebula's voice, which was to blend the breathiness of Marilyn Monroe and Clint Eastwood.
"That informed my whole character," said Gillan.
"Vol. 3" is the last film in the "Guardians of the Galaxy" trilogy, something Gillan said was hard to come terms with.
"It's the end for the Guardians. I don't even want to say that! I'm in denial! But, yes, it's the end," she said.
"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" is out in theaters Friday.
Marvel is owned by Disney, the parent company of ABC News and "Good Morning America."
