Stone fruits like peaches are in peak season from late spring to summer so now is the perfect time to try this easy hack to keep them looking vibrant yellow and fresh even after they've been cut into slices.

Whether it's for a salad or dessert, fresh peach slices can be a beautiful addition to a plate and Nicole Modic, creator of the popular food site, Instagram and TikTok Kale Junkie, shared her simple trick to keep the fruit looking its best.

Modic said peach season is her favorite and first shared this handy tip on social media to help anyone who adds sliced peaches to summer charcuterie boards or salads, "because no one likes soggy, brown peaches."

"Instead of using lemon juice -- we don’t want our peaches tasting like lemons -- use club soda," Modic said. "It’s the same concept, but better. I found that they stay nice and crisp, too."

How to do it

Submerge peach slices in club soda. Let them soak for 5 minutes.

Pour the club soda into a glass (you now have peach-infused club soda to drink) then store peaches in a covered container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
