— -- Happy Canada Day, Rob Ford!

The Toronto mayor marched proudly through the streets of his city today, one day after he made his first public appearance since leaving rehab for alcohol addiction.

Ford was met with some jeers from the crowd when he handed out Canadian flags and magnets at one parade, according to the CBC, while other constituents reportedly shook hands with the mayor and expressed their well wishes.

The jovial-looking mayor, who is running for re-election, wore a red and white lei to mark the national holiday. He tweeted a photo of himself marching in a parade this afternoon with the National Congress of Chinese Canadians.

At a news conference on Monday, Ford made his first public appearance since leaving rehab for alcohol addiction.

"When I look back at some of the things that I did when I was using, I am ashamed, embarrassed and humiliated," Ford said. "I was wrong, and I have no one to blame but myself."

Ever the politician, Ford also found time to applaud his actions as mayor before he spun out of control and was allegedly videotaped on drunken benders and even admitted to smoking crack cocaine.

"I am extremely proud of my public record," Ford said. "Toronto's economy is booming. We are creating jobs and building our city. We have a beautiful, clean city that is one of the greatest places in the world to live and do business."
