Pulitzer Prize winning photojournalist Manu Brabo spent the end of April and May in Iraq embedded with Peshmerga Kurdish forces. Brabo tells ABC News that he wanted to be there to tell the story of Peshmerga Kurdish fighters in northern Iraq who are fighting to take back territory that ISIS now occupies. The following images are a glimpse into the day and life of those who fight to take back their territory captured by ISIS. Pictured, a Peshmerga fighter from the PAK units (Iran) scans towards ISIS positions at the frontline of Hawijah, 9 miles from Kirkuk Iraqi Kurdistan, May 2016.
