• <a href="http://www.muirvidler.com"target="external">Muir Vidler has an unusual portrait project.
"I had the idea to shoot portraits of aging rebels and mavericks after meeting Adrian Delgoffe in a club in Brixton called Love Muscle. He was dancing by himself wearing a leather harness and chains and I thought it was great that he was doing that in his 60's rather than sitting at home, covered in biscuit crumbs, wedged into an armchair in front of the TV. I wanted to take photos that celebrate the people who don't let age define who they are and how they live their lives.".

 • Danny Lynch, the Great Stromboli, is an old circus performer. I visited him at his house outside Manchester where he lives a quite life with his wife and dog. In the photo you can see his wife going in the house to get me a cup of tea. Danny has spent years travelling the world so he's happy with the nice suburban life these days. He collects oddities, his latest acquisition was a rare elephant bird egg.

 • I met Mick and Peggy Warner in the Tennessee Club, an old club for rock n' rollers. Peggy is kind of famous in the tattoo world for having a great portrait of Bill Hayley tattooed on her back. They must have started getting tattooed 40 years ago - now everyone has rock n' roll style tattoos. If you wait long enough everything comes back into fashion.

 • Paul “Elvis” Chan used to own Gracelands Palace Chinese Restaurant on the Old Kent Rd in Peckham - the Las Vegas of London. He used to perform there most nights and it was always fun when he did. The Elvis lifestyle took its toll on him, so now he's retired and the restaurant is closed down.

 • Isobel Varley is properly famous in the tattoo world. She's recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records as being the "the world's most tattooed senior woman". Since I photographed her she's had lots of penises tattooed on her face. Her husband Mac doesn't have any tattoos.

 • Ray Cooke and Steve Howard were photographed on Brighton Beach. Ray has been a mod since he was a teenager, now he's part of the Odd Mod Squad SC, who do runs down to Brighton every summer. He bumped into Steve that day - they'd never met but they had a lot to talk about.

 • John G. Byrne has been a skinhead since 1969 when he was 13 years old. He's really well known by skinheads all around the world. He's a photographer and has a great archive of skinhead pictures, especially of gay skinheads - he was one of the first openly gay skins. He pops up in almost anything you read about the history of the sub-culture.
