— -- First there was “Grumpy Cat”. Now meet “Surprised Cat,” a British shorthair who appears to be in a perpetual state of surprise.

The feline made its Internet debut on the social media website Duitang with a collection of photos posted by his owner, identified as Winnie on the site.

The photos show that no matter what the cat is doing – lying down, looking up, playing or resting – he appears to be surprised, thanks to the positioning of his eyes, mouth and whiskers.

The black-and-white cat is so far just a hot topic online, but judging by the worldwide phenom that became “Grumpy Cat,” who knows where the cat could go.

"Grumpy Cat," whose real name is “Tardar Sauce,” became an overnight Internet sensation after her picture was posted on Reddit in 2012.

Known for her permanent grumpy expression, which her owner says is a result of feline dwarfism, Grumpy Cat will be voiced in an upcoming Lifetime movie, "Grumpy Cat's Worst Christmas Ever," by Audrey Plaza.
