— -- Sen. Kamala Harris is a woman of her word.

The California Democrat made good Tuesday on her promise to gift Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, with some of her state's finest food if the Houston Astros beat the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series.

"Hey @TedCruz - when the @Dodgers bring that trophy home to the Golden State, lunch is on you, right? #WorldSeries2017," Harris tweeted in October.

Cruz shot back, "Looking forward to enjoying some of CA's finest food courtesy of @SenKamalaHarris once the @Astros beat the @Dodgers in the #WorldSeries!"

Well, the Astros beat the Dodgers in seven games on Nov. 1 -- capturing their first World Series title in the franchise's 56-year history -- which meant Cruz was due some of the Golden State's finest.

Harris tweeted a 12-second video of herself -- wearing an Astros shirt and World Series hat -- knocking on Cruz's office door on Capitol Hill, during which she takes a deep breath, knocks on the door, and when no one comes to the door, she says, laughing, "Well, maybe he's not here."

But she eventually did make it into his office.

Armed with a couple bottles of California wine and See's Chocolate, which are manufactured in California, Harris met with Cruz and admitted defeat.

"Here I am, congratulations," Harris, laughing, said to Cruz, as she pulled items out of a gift bag. "I brought you gifts from California. I brought you California wine. A red and a white. And then I brought you some See's Candies, California-made, some of the best candy in the world. And congratulations, senator, because you won the bet."

The pair -- from opposite side from the aisle -- then embrace each other.

In a video of the encounter, below, tweeted by Dallas News Washington correspondent Nicole Cobler, both Harris and Cruz are laughing, with Cruz repeatedly saying the items are "fabulous."

"This season the @astros did, without a doubt, #EarnHistory," Cruz tweeted, along with photos from Harris' visit. "Thanks to @SenKamalaHarris for the friendly wager, for the laughs, and the California treats."

Another tweet from Cruz read, "@SenKamalaHarris graciously delivering CA wine & See's candies, delivering on our World Series bet. Today, we are all Astros!"
