— -- ABC News’ “Good Morning America” continues its “Hidden Worlds” series with an epic event, GMA ON SAFARI, which transports viewers LIVE into Tanzania’s Ngorongoro Crater. Every February, this crater is the home to Earth’s greatest concentration of large mammals when part of the Great Migration makes a stop there. Beginning Monday, February 22, 2016, news anchor Amy Robach reports live from Africa on the encroaching threat of poachers to the continent’s majestic animals. From 7:00-9:00am Eastern on Tuesday, February 23, 2016, using the latest in virtual reality and drone camera technology, viewers will get a groundbreaking look at wildlife teeming within the crater. Viewers will be able to experience the GMA ON SAFARI event on ABCNEWS.COM/VR and their mobile devices where they can get a 360 degree view of the stunning landscape. For the first time in network history, the viewer will be able to control their own adventure and choose which animals they want to see LIVE.

On her amazing journey Robach will come face to face with exotic animals from zebras to rhinos, lions to wildebeests, ostriches to gazelles, all in their natural habitat. Respected wildlife expert Dave Salmoni from Discovery’s “Animal Planet” will join the team in Africa to help educate viewers on the increasing threat of animal poaching and its impact across the globe. ABC News correspondent TJ Holmes will report from South Africa on the war on extinction being mounted across the continent, to stop organized crime rings killing Africa’s animals for profit.
