“GMA” More Than Doubles Week-to-Week Total Viewer Lead Over “Today”

“GMA” Increases Week-to-Week Across All Key Target Demos; Only Morning Program to Grow in Total Viewers

“GMA” Draws Largest Demo Audience in Six Weeks and Largest Overall Audience in Five Weeks

ABC News’ “Good Morning America” ranked No. 1 for the week in Total Viewers (5.356 million) and Adults 25-54 (1.939 million) during the week of April 27, 2015, based on Live +Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. “GMA” led NBC’s “Today” (4.772 million and 1.814 million, respectively) by 584,000 Total Viewers and by 125,000 Adults 25-54. “GMA” more than doubled its week-to-week Total Viewer lead over “Today” (+113% - 584,000 vs. 274,000).

“GMA” turned in increases from the previous week (5.083 million, 1.765 million and 1.205 million on w/o 4/20/15) in all key target demos: Total Viewers (+5%), Adults 25-54 (+10%) and Adults 18-49 (+16%), drawing its largest overall audience in 5 weeks and its strongest news demo performance in 6 weeks – since weeks of 3/23/15 and 3/16/15, respectively. In addition, “GMA” stood as the only morning program to grow in Total Viewers, while improving the most in both key adult demos compared to CBS’ “CBS This Morning” (flat/+2 %/+8%) and NBC’s “Today” (-1%/+1%/+2%).

Season to date, “GMA” is the No. 1 morning newscast in Total Viewers and Adults 25-54. “GMA” is leading “Today” by 598,000 Total Viewers and by 140,000 Adults 25-54. In fact, “GMA” has increased its season margin over “Today” versus the same point last season in Adults 25-54 (+36% - 140,000 vs. 103,000).

Furthermore, ranking No. 1 for the 3rd-straight season in Total Viewers and Adults 25-54, “GMA” is seeing its widest Adults 25-54 margin over “Today” in 22 years – since the 1992-93 season.

During the week, “GMA” led “CBS This Morning” in Total Viewers (+44%), Adults 25-54 (+80%) and Adults 18-49 (+75%).
