-- NEW YORK -- The Yankees placed catcher Brian McCann on the seven-day concussion DL Saturday morning after a neurologist reviewed his symptoms.
During Friday's sixth inning, Yankees manager Joe Girardi had Francisco Cervelli pinch-hit for McCann, who was feeling the effects of a Mike Aviles' third-inning foul ball off his mask.
"He talked about his jaw," Girardi said Friday, referring to the moments after the foul ball. "He thought his jaw got jammed. Then talking to him later when he came in in the sixth, he felt he was a little foggy."
